Dang. I am in a songwriting funk that you wouldn’t believe. I am at a crossroad of trying to figure out what I feel deeply enough to write about. I could crank some meaningless songs out about random junk with poorly developed melodies…Nope. I want to be moved to sing about something.

I am trying to find it. I could walk away from music and no one would miss a beat, but I would miss it. And that is why I am still trying to find this out.

I hope to add some new music soon….we will see.

Hello friends,

I wanted to fill you in on what I will be up to this fall. First off, I started a new job at Christ UMC in Fairview Heights, IL as their Director of Communications. I will be doing graphic and web design.

Also, I was asked to be the interim worship leader at Family Bible Church in Highland, IL. I will be worshiping with the church from September through November. If you are in that area come check out a service at 10:00am. They are a laid back mobile church that meets in an Elementary school.

I am still writing music and I should have some new stuff out soon.  I say that all the time, but this time I am serious…no really…just check back!

My friend, Jeff Allen, started up a website and podcast called “People in Worship.”  The content is designed for people doing music ministry in churches.  Jeff’s goal is to give worship leaders and Christian artists a sounding board.  Jeff will be doing interviews of area worship leaders and musicians.  I had the honor of being the first interview on his show.  It helps to have friends!  You can check out the interview at:

Sunday August 23 was the most random day of my life. Here are the events:
1. Got up and ran sound for Christ Church UMC
2. Went home and mowed my grass
3. Mowed my friends grass (Nathan and Kelli)
4. Found a baby bunny at Nathan and Kelli’s house
5. Finished mowing and went fishing
6. Got a call from Jeff Allen to see if I wanted to open up with him for Shane and Shane 2 1/2 hours before the show.
7. Stopped fishing and frantically got my gear together to make it for the sound check
8. Opened up for Shane and Shane

I still can’t believe that happened out of the blue, but Jeff Allen and I got to open up for Shane and Shane. I was going to attend that show anyways! They put on a great show and they are just really cool guys.
